VMI RUGBY INFORMATION

The Fall 2006 Season is in full swing for the Ruggers of VMI. The A-Side is off to an impressive 4-0 start after finishing 2-0 at the Blue & Grey Classic, with an impressive 30-0 win against D-1 powerhouse Clemson, and then defeating both the University of Richmond, and their crosstown rivals Washington & Lee University. The B-Side has done equally as well this season, going 1-1 at the Blue and Grey Classic, and then winning against the B-Sides of U of R and W&L.

This past Friday, the VMI Rugby team traveled up to Harrisonburg to play the Dukes of James Madison University. The A-side match did not end well for VMI, with a 20-3 defeat putting an end to VMI's perfect season. After starting off strong, VMI was not able to hold off JMU and the night ended in defeat for the team. The B-Side match was a much better representation of VMI Rugby. While the final score was only 7-0, the Killer B's were able to string together great back play and their forward pack dominated JMU.
