Engineer/Architect

Virginia Military Institute is accepting applications for an Engineer/Architect. Reporting to the Deputy Post Engineer this position’s key responsibilities include managing mechanical engineering, HVAC operations, & related service contracts; implementing an Energy Conservation program; managing project & facility maintenance services; & assisting with the development & tracking of annual budgets. Serves on an engineering team of three responsible for the Maintenance Reserve program, non-capital project management, budget development, studies & master planning, facility condition database management, miscellaneous reporting, & service contract management.

Applicants should have a B.S. related to facilities or engineering (mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering or architecture); 4+ years experience in HVAC systems or facility maintenance desired (or equivalent combination of education & experience); Fundamentals of Engineering & Professional Engineer Registration desired; Certified Energy Management (CEM) Certification desired.
